PORTO LOGISTICS CENTER
Logistics and Energy Platform with Green Hydrogen and Solar
The Neptune Project is an initiative currently in the planning phase that seeks to create a next-generation logistics and energy platform in northern Portugal.
Located in Porto, the complex will integrate three strategic components: a 6,000 m² logistics distribution center, a green hydrogen plant with a capacity of 0.5 tons per day, and a 1.5 MWp photovoltaic plant for self-consumption.
With a total area of 60,000 m² , the project aims to become a benchmark for sustainable mobility and the decarbonization of land and sea transport, combining logistical efficiency and clean energy under a single operating concept.
MAIN COMPONENTS
Logistics Center
Modern infrastructure focused on sustainable distribution and transportation operations, equipped with loading docks, digital management systems, and zero-emission fleets.
Green Hydrogen Plant
Facility for the production of renewable hydrogen for freight trucks, urban transport, and port operations, contributing to the reduction of emissions in the Atlantic corridor.
Photovoltaic Plant
Solar power generation with 1.5 MWp of installed capacity, aimed at self-consumption of the complex and the electricity supply to the hydrogen plant.
Urbanization and Connectivity
A comprehensive development of 20,000 m² with water, electricity, sanitation, and road access networks, ensuring full urban and industrial integration.
The project will be developed under international sustainability standards , with the goal of achieving BREEAM "Very Good" certification , which guarantees energy efficiency, responsible resource management, and low environmental impact.
Estimated environmental commitments:
-
70% reduction in polluting emissions.
-
Energy savings of over 45%.
-
Operation based on 100% renewable energy.
SUSTAINABILITY AND CERTIFICATION
STRATEGIC IMPACT
-
It strengthens Portugal's position as a leader in the European energy transition.
-
Promotes a decarbonized logistics infrastructure in the Atlantic axis.
-
Promotes the creation of technical and specialized employment in clean energy.
-
It acts as a replicable model for future logistics and energy developments in the Iberian Peninsula.
